Locke and Mineta raise funds to provide full access to the electoral process by encouraging
active participation in, and by, communities of color.
Locke and Mineta are committed to support progressive candidates at the federal and state-wide level in pivotal races who are sympathetic and sensitive to the issues of people of color and ethnic minorities, and to encourage communities of color to more fully participate in the electoral process.
"We cannot take for granted participation from Asian Pacific Islander Americans and other ethnic communities in the 2008 Election," explain Locke and Mineta. "We are committed to providing full access to the electoral process by encouraging active participation in, and by, communities of color. And, we recognize the need to encourage political candidates to campaign fully in these important communities."
Locke and Mineta will also be traveling to New York and Washington, DC to generate support for their effort.
