Seattle, WA, May 1, 2008 -- Campaigning in California, New York City and Washington, DC, former Washington State Governor Gary Locke and former Cabinet Secretary Norman Mineta completed their successful bi-coastal tour in promoting their PAC, America’s Opportunity Fund (AOF).
Locke and Mineta raised funds for their new PAC to help provide full access to the electoral process by encouraging active participation in, and by, communities of color. Locke and Mineta are committed to support progressive candidates at the federal and state-wide level in pivotal races who are sympathetic and sensitive to the issues of people of color and ethnic minorities, and to encourage communities of color to more fully participate in the electoral process.
Since its inception in July 2007, America’s Opportunity Fund (AOF) has been met with overwhelming support across the nation. "We are striving to make a significant difference in the outcome of key races across the nation in 2008," said Governor Locke.
"America’s Opportunity Fund would like to thank all of our supporters from across the country, for helping to promote this important organization. It is only with your support that we can achieve what is right for America," added Secretary Mineta.
Governor Locke and Secretary Mineta have plans to continue to travel the country in 2008, and speak to the issues that impact minority communities, and advocate for further support of AOF.For more information, please go to http://www.americasopportunityfund.com
