August 25, 2008, Seattle, WA-- America’s Opportunity Fund has just celebrated its first birthday. Your continued support for the past twelve months has given us the resources to fulfill our mission in so many ways, and for that we are grateful. We remain committed to our goal of supporting candidates and communities of color who want a better America for all.
“To support progressive candidates in pivotal races who are sympathetic and sensitive to issues that affect people of color, and who inspire participation in government for the benefit of all Americans.”
Last year, AOF provided financial assistance to the Nevada State Democratic Party to assist them with Get-Out-the-Vote activities by supporting members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities to participate in the Nevada Caucus. As a result, there was record breaking attendance.
Soon afterwards, AOF also supplemented funds to assist with yet another Get-Out-the-Vote effort in the State of Texas that was focused again on the AAPI community to encourage attendance at their caucuses and to vote in the presidential primary election.
The biggest news of all is that we have recently selected five federal candidates to endorse and have sent each of them contributions on behalf of America’s Opportunity Fund!
And, the drum rolls please……….

Top Senate, House and Gubernatorial races were analyzed and extensive research was completed prior to making our choices. These are candidates who will benefit from our support and will uphold the values and principles that AOF was founded on.
We will continue to watch these races, and others, as the weeks go on leading up to November 4th. We may also choose to participate in Get-Out-the-Vote activities in selected swing states as the election draws near. We will keep you apprised as things move forward.
Please be assured that critical resources that you provide to America’s Opportunity Fund will assist with our shared mission of providing leadership opportunities for candidates who reflect Democratic values of honest government, family, community, hard work, love of country, respect and trust.
Thank you for your support!
